MILITARY ACTION LIKELY TO RESUME IN NE SYRIA

MILITARY ACTION LIKELY TO RESUME IN NE SYRIA Turkey’s five-day truce to allow Kurdish forces to evacuate an area designated as a “safe zone” comes to an end today, and indications are that the military campaign will resume. It was still unclear if the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) would fully comply with the agreement, which would leave Turkish forces in charge of the swathe of territory that the Kurds once held with U.S. military support. The Turkish assault began on October 9th after Trump moved U.S. troops out of northeast Syria into Iraq.
