This video explains one of my all-time favourite ways to locate bass faster on NEW lakes. Snapping Strike King 3.5" Coffee tubes through the water column w/ St.Croix M power spinning rods like the Legend X w/ 8-10 lb Gamma Edge fluorocarbon line on a smooth drag system reel like the Daiwa Tatula. Thousands of lakes across Northern Ontario have smallmouth bass, many of lakes are similar in natural structure incl. rocky points, shoals, cabbage weed, sand flats & lots and lots of rock, the smallmouth favourite!
This was the exact technique I used on a trip to Island Lake Camp near Temagami ON this past summer on a lake I have never fished before and had to find bass fast, this technique did not disappoint.
This technique of 'snapping' a tube jig on any of the above mentioned locations, regardless of the lake or region, will trigger strikes from bass from sunrise to sunset.
