Trump Calls Emoluments Clause “Phony” And He’s Likely Still Running His Businesses

Of all of the parts of the U.S. Constitution, none have been more trampled on by the Trump administration than the Emoluments Clause forbidding a president from enriching themselves while serving. Trump claimed on Monday that the Emoluments Clause was “phony” and then proceeded to reveal information that he wouldn’t know unless he was still (illegally) running his business.
