Excise duty roll out: Beverages to bear stamp

Starting  today ,  bottled  water , soda, juices,  and other non alcoholic  beverages  , should bare an  excise stamp from Kenya revenue authority  (KRA ) as  the  excisable goods management system (EGMS) goes  live ,  
 This comes despite a court order barring the taxman from implementing the tax,  until a case filed by Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM), importers,  distributors and retailers of bottled water is determined on November 21st.
 
As Lindah Koskey tell us,  prices of beverages  and cosmetic products are expected to go up as taxman targets to raise Shs4 billion.
