Yawar Shafi,Srinagar: Suspected militants hurled a grenade at busiest area of Srinagar on Monday afternoon. Militants lobbed a grenade in Goni Khan Area of Srinagar’s city centre which is always flooded with commercial activities and known for business hub. Sources said one non-local has been killed in this attack while as twenty civilians and three security forces personnel of Shashastra Seema Bal (SSB) were wounded. The identity of deceased is yet to be ascertained.
“We are establishing how this attack took place, the area is under cordon and injured have been rushed to hospital,” IG CRPF Srinagar Ravideep Sahi said.
Soon after this attack, entire area has been cordoned off and massive hunt is underway by joint forces to nab the attackers.
