Agartala, Oct. 31, 2019: Chief Justice of High Court of Tripura Sanjoy Karol has been requested to assume charge as Chief Justice of Patna High Court on or before November 13, according to an official notification of Ministry of Law and Justice.

In the notification issued yesterday, it was said, "In exercise of powers conferred by clause (1) of Article 222 of the Constitution of India, the President, after consultation with the Chief Justice of India is pleased to transfer Shari Justice Sanjay Karol, Chief Justice of High Court of Tripura as the Chief Justice of Patna High Court and direct him to assume charge of the office of the Chief Justice of Patana High Court on or before 13th November, 2019".

Interestingly, in the notification, it was not mentioned who will take charge of Chief Justice of High Court of Tripura after departure of Justice Karol. The notification was signed by Joint Secretary to the Govt of India Rajinder Kashyap.
