Pacific Crest Trail 3rd Gate Water Cache; how it's maintained

Pacific Crest Trail 3rd Gate Water Cache; how it's maintained Please direct Venmo donations to: @ThirdGateWaterCache

This video shows how the Pacific Crest Trail "3rd Gate Water Cache" is maintained by volunteers. This well established cache is located in a 24 mile dry section of the trail, without a natural water source. The Pacific Crest Trail Association strongly discourages individuals from creating new water caches. It is important to note, that while this cache is well maintained, you should never rely on caches for your water in the backcountry. It was my pleasure to serve as a volunteer for this cache for the 2019 hiking season.
