CINCINNATI (WKRC) - The season for getting sick is ramping up. If you have a sore throat or are coughing, you probably have what's going around. Most are virus-related and many of these are healed with comfort care. However, you may want to talk to your pharmacist about your medication needs and any vaccines you need, such as pneumonia or the flu.
HealthSource of Ohio says they are starting to see many of the illnesses pick up that could be prevented, such as colds, the flu, shingles and pneumonia.
But there are complaints in New Richmond, Mt. Washington, Anderson Township, Loveland and other areas of the Tri-State of upper respiratory issues, stomach viruses and strep throat.
Since those need comfort care for the most part, your pharmacist is the best person to match the pill to the pain. Pharmacies inside HealthSource locations are open to everyone, not just those who receive care at the centers.
The flu hasn't been seen much in the area yet.
