US Naval Base Shooting: Saudi National Suspected in Florida Shooting Incident The suspected shooter involved in a deadly incident, Friday, December 6, at a major U.S. Navy base in Florida was believed to be a Saudi national in the United States for training, two U.S. defense officials said, speaking on condition of anonymity.

The shooter opened fire in a classroom building Friday morning. The attack that left four people dead, including the assailant, and multiple people wounded. The shooting was the second at a U.S. Navy base this week.
Escambia County Sheriff David Morgan said four people had been killed and that the two sheriff's deputies who were the first to respond, including one who killed the shooter, were wounded but expected to recover.
Eight people were taken to Baptist Health Care in Pensacola, and one of them died, Morgan said.
