Parks is currently VP of Business Development at OpConnect. OpConnect is an electric vehicle fueling solution provider dedicated to the reduction in greenhouse gases and air pollution through the electrification of transportation. Parks is also an independent consultant who works in the field of environmental engineering, science and policy solving problems in renewable energy and energy policy.
Parks recently co-authored the book, “All-Electric America: A Climate Solution and the Hopeful Future.” The book explains how making the transition to an all-electric, all renewable society by the year 2050 is necessary, practical, and achievable. It details on how an energy infrastructure powered by the sun and wind & running on electricity, for all our energy needs, will be reliable, cleaner, safer, and CHEAPER and will lead to a better energy future.
Parks was former editor for ElectricityPolicy.com and Electricity Daily, a journal that informed utility executives and commissioners about current events and the state of the electricity industry. As an engineer she worked on projects focusing on water distribution, water planning, and resource allocation.
She served on City of Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler’s Environmental Policy Task Force, has carried out extensive research, has acted as an advisor for technology reports, and has written about innovations in energy storage, smart grid technology, and renewable energy.
She holds a Master of Science degree from Stanford University in Civil and Environmental Engineering and a BA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in International Relations.
