Heartburn or acid reflux is a condition that can be accompanied by burning that extends from the mouth of the stomach into the esophagus. It can be produced by mixing food improperly, generating indigestion and frequent discomfort. To attack this discomfort, here are some home remedies with ingredients that can be easily obtained without spending a lot of money.
1. MILK
In the beginning, it helps to calm the symptoms, but then it stimulates the stomach to produce even more acid thanks to its high-fat content. Try to drink half a glass of skim milk to avoid this adverse effect and do not exaggerate the amount. If you are going through a bad time with heartburn, you can try these remedies and discover which one suits you best.
2. GINGER TEA
Among its many benefits, ginger is a perfect ingredient to relieve digestive system disorders, including heartburn. Its nutrients neutralize the acids that cause reflux. Therefore, it is advisable to have a cup of ginger tea about 20 minutes before each meal to prevent and relieve heartburn.
To prepare the tea you have to boil a liter of water and, when it boils, add a small ginger root. Leave it on minimum heat for two minutes, turn off and let cool. Then strain the liquid, and store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator, to drink whenever you want.
3. SODIUM BICARBONATE
Another home remedy for heartburn is baking soda. As for heartburn, it allows neutralizing the accumulated acids in the stomach. It is a natural alkaline.
As soon as the first symptoms of acidity appear, you can drink a glass of water mixed with half a tablespoon of bicarbonate, and you will feel a rapid improvement. Try not to overdo these measures, and take it only once a day.
4. ALOE VERA JUICE
The aloe vera plant is widely recognized for its medicinal qualities, not only in terms of the digestive: it also helps the skin and hair, among others. To use it to relieve acidity, you can cut and peel a piece of aloe of about two cm2 and swallow it. It is recommended that you can choose to mix the piece of plant in a natural fruit juice.
5. LETTUCE TEA
It may sound unpleasant, but lettuce leaves are also a good remedy for heartburn. With them, you can make an infusion especially useful to favor after eating too copious foods. To do this, bring a cup of water to a boil. When it reaches the boil, add 3 lettuce leaves, and let it cook for two minutes. Have a cup of tea after each main meal. It is suggested that you should try this effective remedy to remove acidity.
6. BUBBLE GUM
Chewing gum increases the flow of saliva and in turn decreases the acidity in the stomach, protecting the esophagus from gastric acid. Sugar-free gum that has sweetener xylitol is recommended.
7. NATURAL YOGURT
It helps to calm the digestive system while helping to prevent heartburn. It is advisable to eat yogurt 2 times a day.
