Boris Johnson Starts on His Spending Promises

Boris Johnson is keen to win over the regions of the UK where he made large gains in the recent general election. In order to shore up support, he has announced an increase in the minumum wage and there are reports that he will also change the rules to encourage more investment of money around the poorer parts of the country, especially the North of England.
