Broncos Hire Shurmur & Fire Scangarello: Plus Free Agency. The Denver Broncos GM John Elway fired offensive coordinator Rich Scangarello, and will hire former New York Giants head coach Pat Shurmur. Shurmur is excited to work with Drew Lock who will be entering his second season in 2020.

The decision to move on from first year offensive coordinator was supposedly that of head coach Vic Fangio. Shurmur spent two seasons with the Giants trying to get more from a team that had Eli Manning, Saquon Barkley, and eventually Daniel Jones. Shurmur worked with Nick Foles in Philadelphia under CHip kelly. Case Keenum in his miracle year with the Minnesota Vikings, and Sam Bradford. The Cleveland Browns hired Kevin Stefanski today who also mentioned he is interested in Wade Phillips as a possible defensive coordinator candidate.
