China: Wuhan train station packed as people flee before lockdown

Footage from before the authorities in the Chinese city of Wuhan, where the new coronavirus outbreak originated, instituted a travel ban, shows one of the city's train stations packed with passengers trying to leave, on Thursday morning.

There are 570 confirmed cases of the newly emerging coronavirus, which has killed at least 17 people, with cases spreading over the country and as well as to South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Thailand and recently the US.

An outbreak of a respiratory illness caused by the newly emerging coronavirus - also known as 2019-nCoV - was reported in the city of 11 million people, in December 2019.
