Yes, that's right. Boris Johnson now wants the top priority to be Japan when it comes to getting a post-Brexit trade deal quickly. More friendly noises from Japan on the issue has encouraged the government to get their first quick win with a trade deal with Tokyo. The problem is that they still expect a deal with the EU before they will commit to any comprehensive deal with us.
