I make no secret of my love of the mending enchantment. Equipment with it can be repaired through the use of experience, effectively making it unbreakable provided you don’t do anything silly. Enchanted weapons and armour will repair as you slay enemies, pickaxes will repair as you mine up coal and other valuable ores and fishing rods will fix themselves as you catch fish. Creating a full set of mending gear should be a priority for anyone once they get librarians as the resources saved by not crafting replacement gear adds up quickly.
The only difficulty that can come about from having a full set of mending gear is ensuring that everything gets fixed. Experience intended for damaged equipment can be soaked up by fully fixed stuff, a drawback to the method mending uses to restore durability. The workaround for this is to remove stuff you don’t want to be fixed up. If you’re fishing for the experience, putting the item you want repaired in your offhand helps too.
