There's still more than week before S3. I don't feel like touching S2 any more, so I re-installed the game on PS4 with a disc and tried v1.00 a bit. There seem to be a Steam mod that allows you to play older versions as well.
\\ If you want to research the history of DBFZ combos, look no further than Clayton's channel ( ). He made a video for almost every character in the first couple of months after the release of the game. Even many concepts that came to fruition in late S1 or S2 have been shown in his early combo videos, not to mention things that he put forward later on. Personally a lot of my growth is thanks to his content.
\\ I learned the property of SSVegeta's (old) dive kick from TheProgenitor ( ) who is a Nappa guru as well as a fast worker that always figures out good things for newly released characters very swiftly. Give him a follow on Twitter if you'd like more DBFZ goodness.
\\ It seems that as long as you start a combo with a move that has multiple hitboxes overlaying one another (i.e. it would cause the combo hit counter to jump from 0 to something bigger than 1, skipping 1), hitstun decay would be glitched and you'd be able to do infinite combos. Thanks to Vato ( ) for pointing that out. See:
