In times past, I trusted God to provide for my physical need, food clothing, and shelter. As a result, I accepted him as my Savior. In those areas where I trusted God, I was flourishing and happier. Other areas not surrendered, I was failing horribly, relationships and things to own, where I rented before. As I mature, I'm just finding a greater need to trust God completely, as LORD, as well as savior. Proverbs 3:5-6, says we should trust the Lord with all our hearts and lean not to our own understanding, but in all our ways acknowledge him and he will direct our paths. Trusting completely means they God can alter my prayers to give me the best he can offer, no matter my preference. Then because there are so many false prophets, the devil, demons among us, we need to make sure we're in God's will by trying or testing the spirit, 1John 4:1-5.
