Have you ever heard of the saying, he is so good he could sell ice to an Eskimo? Meaning that someone is so charming and so convincing that they can sell anything to anyone. It seems that would be a great skill to learn and many network marketers want to learn how to do that.

But there is a big problem with that strategy.

Selling Anything To Anyone
Many network marketing companies and leaders will teach their marketers that everyone needs what they have to offer so you are doing them a disservice if you you let them go without buying or joining. The problem with this type of belief and practice is that you will strong arm many people into buying or joining that don't want or don't need what you have to offer. When you sell to those people, they end up quitting. They don't duplicate and you will spend most of your time, effort and energy into replacing reps and customers that have quit instead of growing and adding to your organization. Not only will these people quit but they will also feel burned and ripped off. Your reputation will suffer. Not only will your business suffer but your personal life will suffer as well.

Instead of trying to close everyone, learn how to sort. Be selective of who you let be your customer and into your business. If you do that, you are more likely to build a business of doers instead of a business of quitters.

Don't try to close everyone, instead first see who's open. Then see if they have what it takes to be part of your team. Then you can let them be part of your organization.
