Man jailed for licking icecream before putting back into freezer in Texas shop

Copycat prankster, 36, is arrested over video of him licking a tub of ice-cream and putting it back on the shelf - just days after teenager did the same in notorious footage


An American man who filmed himself licking ice cream before putting it back into a supermarket freezer has been jailed.
D'Adrien Anderson, 24, was today jailed for 30 days over the incident in a Walmart supermarket near Houston, Texas, in August last year, the BBC reports.
Store security cameras captured Anderson pick out the ice cream, he then licked it and replaced it.

He was later filmed taking the sweet treat back out of the freezer and purchasing it.
He later returned to the supermarket with his father to show officers his receipt to prove he had bought the tampered ice cream.
As a precaution, ice cream manufacturer Blue Bell Creameries replaced all of the ice cream in the freezer. It cost the company $2374.

Lenise Martin III, 36, has been charged with unlawful posting of criminal activity for notoriety and publicity, and tampering with property, after filming a copycat video in a supermarket in Belle Rose, Louisiana.
