Can You Beat Call of Duty 4 Without Taking Any Damage? (in text form)

This challenge works the same way every other Without Taking Any Damage run works. I play through the game as you normally would, but any time I take damage, I reload to the most recent checkpoint. I’ll get more into it in a bit. The first level of the campaign is F.N.G and has you playing as Soap Macintosh, a engineering student who dropped out of school or some such nonsense. Shoot the gun, learn that bullets can actually penetrate cheap pieces of wood, you can explode a watermelon, accidentally hit someone, then accidentally do it again to someone else, do something similar to a third person, and a fourth person, and you’re outside. Lots to do. That’s a lie. You can’t get hit by a truck and you can barely jump over someone who’s doing pushups. Captain Price make fun of me and it was my turn for the CQB test. Fun fact: hitting someone with a flash bang is considered as a betrayal, and you have to actually catch the rope. The test itself wasn’t anything crazy complicated. Shoot the targets, throw a few flashbangs, sprint to the finish, all standard Smash Bros speed running tactics.

Then we finally get to the first mission. Boarding a ship near the Bearing Straight and looking for information. With this being the first mission to contain combat, it’s still pretty hand-holdy. The first few enemies encounter are just crew members who can’t fight back. After taking damage for the first time, my team and I proceeded through the ship. Now that there’s relevant footage, I can explain a bit more about this playthrough, because it’s different than most of the No Damage runs I’ve done. In Fallout or Skyrim, you can save at any time and revert back to that save when you take damage. End a guy, quick save, then if you take damage you don’t have to end him again. Call of Duty 4 is different, it has a checkpoint system. You either make it to the next checkpoint or you keep trying to get through a certain segment until you do. The other slice of significance pie is that this is a first person shooter, so combat will be more frequent and intense. There are no “talk to this guy and pass a skill check to avoid combat” options here.
