How to Evaluate the Scrum Master's Performance

Scrum is becoming a more common framework for product development and more companies are hiring full-time professional Scrum Masters. However, the common question that I got is, how do we actually evaluate the performance of a Scrum Master? Especially when a company has many Scrum Masters.

If the Scrum Master is accountable for the agility of the organisation, we can tie Scrum Master performance to the Evidence Based Management (EBM) metric.
