In which I grapple with the idea of truth in nonfiction, ramble on for a while and still forget things I wanted to talk about like the difference between biographies and memoirs in truth of a person's life, between memoirs by someone 'unknown' compared to famous people whose stories are easier to fact-check, whether truth is an aspect of quality judgement in nonfiction and how, nonfiction in other forms than published books like online/news articles - how each medium changes the circumstances for truth telling, infotainment, telling someone else’s truth and the ethics/morals of that, and more. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this central aspect to the thing we call “nonfiction”!
