I made these sweaters to honor my 102 year old Grandma. She survived the great depression and our family was successful during those times. In order for them to do that they all had to work together on the farm. Grandma went years without the things she needed. She suffered for many years with terrible headaches since she was a child. Once she became an adult she came up with enough money to go see the doctor and found out she needed glasses. Grandma also Lost her hearing as a teenager her family didn't have enough money to bring her to the doctor. Everyone in the family had to make sacrifices for their land and they all had to work together to make sure that they kept it. Grandma Hazel eventually lost her hearing in one ear. I assume she had a terrible ear infection That was never treated. This is something that I have been thinking about for a while. Doing something for her. Grandma has always instilled in me If I wanted to go fast go alone but if I wanted to go further and farther go together. After months of thinking about it I came up with a Stronger together Sweaters. When I showed Grandma she cried. I told her the heartbeat on the front was hers. I was lucky enough to capture all of this on video I'm extremely thankful I have it, because of her we are all here today stronger together and ready to fight forever for our family.
