SDSFA 1994 U13s were invited by the Australian Soccer Federation (having been recognised as the best team in the country after becoming the first ever U12 Grand Slam winners in 1993) to represent Australia at the Disney Cup in the USA, a tournament run in conjunction with the USA94 World Cup and featuring the best teams from all over the globe. Southern Districts won through to the Disney Cup Final where they are playing the USA,s number 1 ranked U13 team, California Rockers at the 104,000 capacity Rose Bowl in Pasadena exactly 1 week after the 1994 World Cup Final between Italy and Brazil.
Disney had a team of professional camera men filming the game which was beemed live onto cable TV coast to coast in America.
