It's been somewhat quiet on the Scream 5 front since the rumor that THE BIG 3 (Neve/David/Courteney) were all being invited back to move the franchise forward, post Wes Craven era. But now we are getting conflicting reports from the actors themselves, as Neve Campbell and David Arquette are both claiming that they haven't received so much as a phone call. It's uncertain if these claims are true, or even how far along any prospective screenplay may be, let alone news on who could be writing it, and if it has the returning characters in mind. But there's still plenty of time to hold out hope as we're still in the very early stages of this movie's development. It just seems like most fans want to see a continuation of the storyline from the first 4 movies, and a return of their favorite characters, so it would be more ideal to hear that Neve and David have been in contact with Spyglass Media Group.
It's always possible that they have been in meetings with producers and are not allowed to talk about any of it until they've signed contracts, but one could only hope.
