Michael's Bio:
Michael Galvin leads Metis' Corporate Training business, which provides onsite and online training, custom learning paths, and content licensing in data science, data engineering, and artificial intelligence. He comes to Metis from General Electric where he worked to establish their data science strategy and capabilities for field services and to build solutions supporting global operations, risk, engineering, sales, and marketing. Prior to GE, Michael spent several years as a data scientist working on problems in credit modeling at Kabbage and corporate travel and procurement at TRX. Michael holds a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and a Master's degree in Computational Science and Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology where he also spent 3 years working on machine learning research problems related to computational biology and bioinformatics.
David's Bio:
David Robinson is the Chief Data Scientist at DataCamp, an education company for teaching data science through interactive online courses. His interests include statistics, data analysis, education, and programming in R. He is the co-author with Julia Silge of the tidytext package and the O’Reilly book Text Mining with R. He is also the author of the broom, gganimate, and fuzzyjoin packages, and of the e-book Introduction to Empirical Bayes. He previously worked as a data scientist at Stack Overflow, and received a PhD in Quantitative and Computational Biology from Princeton University.
Gordon's Bio:
Gordon is EVP, Regional Head of Global Risk Analytics at HSBC. He is responsible for the development and implementation of models used for calculating wholesale credit, market and counterparty credit risk metrics, anti-money laundering, regulatory compliance and operational risk analytics in the region. He is also responsible for interacting with regulatory agencies to ensure HSBC’s compliance in quantitative aspects with the relevant risk and compliance regulations. Gordon received a PhD in electrical and systems engineering from University of Connecticut and his undergraduate and master degrees from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan, China.
Patrick's Bio:
Patrick Nussbaumer is the Enablement Program Director at DataRobot. At DataRobot, Patrick owns the on-boarding program for customer-facing associates and supports the global sales team from an enablement perspective. Prior to joining DataRobot, Patrick was the Director of Technical Enablement at Alteryx where he created the Alteryx certification program, and created a Predictive Analytics for Business Nanodegree program in partnership with Udacity. Over his 25 years in the industry, he has held positions in managerial consulting at Accenture, led the analytics program at CIT group, and various engineering positions at Conexant Systems, Methode Electronics, and TRW Space & Electronics (now Northrop Grumman). Patrick holds an M.B.A. from the University of California, Irvine, and a B.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Wendy's Bio:
Wendy Callaghan is Chief Innovation Legal Officer and Associate General Counsel at AIG. In this role, she leads a team of attorneys supporting AIG’s businesses and function areas on legal issues regarding innovative technologies and technology-fueled business models, including Artificial Intelligence/ machine learning, Internet of Things (IoT), Blockchain/DLT, Autonomous Vehicles and Sharing Economy. Wendy joined AIG in 2002 and, prior to her current role, served as a technology attorney at the firm, providing legal support for strategic IT initiatives, vendor relationships and methodologies, including use of cloud services, open source software and agile software development methodology.
Prior to her tenure with AIG, Wendy served as an Associate Attorney in the Technology Practice Group at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman, LLP, and as an Associate Attorney in the Internet Law and e-Commerce Group at Bryan Cave, LPP (formerly Robinson, Silverman, Pearce, Arohnson & Berman). She received her Juris Doctor degree from Rutgers School of Law – Newark in 1993, graduating with High Honors and achieving membership in the Order of the Coif.
