I Samuel 7:1-12 The Children of Israel have reached a turning point in their relationship with God.
They look back with spiritually opened eyes, and they can see, yes, the recent victory over the Philistines, but they can see farther back.
They can see back through the 20 years they lived without His Presence, in idolatry and sin.
Even when they didn’t deserve it, he was helping them.
One of the greatest things He did to help them was to help them realize how important He was to them.
How about you? As you look back over this past year, can you see His help? I’m sure you can.
1. Comfort and sustaining in a sorrowful time.
2. Healing – Physically, spiritually, emotionally, relationally
3. Help y9u didn’t deserve
4. Blessings
5. He may have seen you through a tough time and taught you wonderful, liberating lessons through it.
6. Even further back, I am sure you can see His hand of mercy at work even when you were far from Him.
The words “thus far” convey the idea of looking forward as well as back, don’t they?—Looking forward in faith.
After looking back and seeing that the Lord has helped us through so many yesterdays, we know we can trust Him with all all our tomorrows.
