Continuing our discussion of the magic of "Thinking Big". It this next section we read, “Like any disease, excuse-itis gets worse if it isn't treated properly.” According to this work, excuses actually become embedded deeper within the subconscious.
In an age where we're becoming increasingly more aware of neuro diversity, of mental illness, of physical disability, of a spectrum upon which we all learn a little bit differently. The idea of don't make any excuses, if you just set your mind to do it, you can do it, can be a little bit reductive, a little bit too simplistic.
We all have our various strengths, but we also have different areas where we might still be developing. And to be cognizant of that at the same time, it is extremely important that we do not give excuses, where they are purely holding us back and are not founded in truth.
The word excuse, I think is it's own little house that represents, saying you can't do something that you actually can do. Think about some of the excuses you've given in the past for why you don't have more money.
Think about any excuses you've given for why you don't like your job more than you do. Think about excuses, so if I were to say, oh this year, it's early on in the year, it's early on in 2020. What an exciting time to build a new habit. What three charities would you like to start volunteering for right now? And just notice immediately any excuses that pop up.
It is important to make time for the things you actually want to do. So getting hyper aware and hyper focused on any times in your life that you are making excuses and shutting down your own power, and according to this author, pretty much ensuring the fact that you'll never reach that definition of success.
Enjoy taking responsibility and freeing yourself from making excuses. You will be heading full speed towards your definition of success.
Now that you have exercised your conscious mind, let's condition the subconscious mind.
Get nice and comfy. Close your eyes….
These are the powerful phrases you’re going to condition your subconscious mind with this week:
I am capable of being extremely successful.
I take responsibility and release excuses.
I take responsibility and release old excuses.
To feel brave, I take action.
Enjoy your mental freedom and have a wonderful day!
With Love,
Grace Smith
