How To Safely Lane Split On A Motorcycle ~ MotoJitsu

How To Safely Lane Split On A Motorcycle ~ MotoJitsu In this video I talk about all the various tips regarding lane splitting. First, it's not meant for inexperienced riders. It takes a tremendous amount of judgment and hazard response skills in order to be safe while lane splitting. It's not recommended to lane split if traffic is going more than 50 mph with no more than 10 mph over the cars around you. Faster than that, the differential is way too high in order to react in time. Next, two or more lanes must be going the same direction in order to lane split and the only option is going up the middle. It's illegal passing on the left or right if you go around a car, even if your bike can fit. If there's more than two lanes, it's recommended to split between the farthest left lanes, the number 1 and 2 lanes. It's not recommended to lane split if you can't fit, traffic is unpredictable, you're impaired in some way, you're not fully alert, when you're on a on or off ramp, between two big trucks, during corners, and in construction zones. Be respectful around other motorists and make good choices. Highly recommended to find a mentor who can give you advice about how to lane split, when and do some lead and follow while first learning.

My vision is to inspire riders to wear full gear, take courses, and practice in order to reduce crashes on the public roads.
