When most of the machines at the East LA Doctor’s Hospital began malfunctioning, voters tried to vote for 45 minutes before they finally accepted a provisional ballot. Instead of closing the site they gave people provisionals and the lead poll worker lied and said that provisional and regular ballots were the same. He also insisted they both counted. This is a heavily Latino and working class area. We tried to warn people and some took our advice but the reality is they kept open. The location was also hard to find.
